My life has changed drastically over the past year. I went from running in track, to running to the front lines of defence. Shooting a basketball, to shooting guns at 100 yd targets. Wearing hood colours, to wearing an army uniform. I'm not a typical street kid, and i don't think that i ever will be. I used to be the typical wigger, before the 2008 summer. That was around the same time my dad told me that discipline was everything, and in my case, i had nothing! He said that to gain discipline and to be able to show respect for my elders, i would have to change. I never thought i would be good at the NAVY, or even want to join, but i did just to make him proud of me. I could have sat on my high horse and did the same typical things I would have done, but no, I decided to change for him. I went away to camp borden for the NAVY and loved it, I thought it would be my future career. I thought it was all physical, but there was a lot of book work. I'm not good at book work! The shortest thing I read up in borden though, was the worst. OS Lane, maybe you should try again next year. It killed me cause I was finally making my father proud. I came home and starting seeing my old friends and that was when my dad said it, "son, you have to choose, my rules, or do you choose to go with your friends?" Well, all of my friends lived in shelters, I was the rich one, but really, I didn't care! I chose them over that horrible life and thank the lord for doing so ever since!
Since I left, i have met so many amazing people, and music has really become my life! My best friend, the reason why I got kicked out, isn't my friend, he is now my brother. The girl I was with, turned out to only want my money, now I'm with someone who makes me happy!
My life has changed a lot, and every day I'm thankful that I now have all of theese experiences under my belt!
I have two influences for what I do. First and formost goes to my best friend, brother, partner in crime! Purpose! He always inspires me to do better, and I do the same for him. I follow his rapping abbilities to improve mine, and him with my singing. We are really just two friends working off of ecah other to get better.
My second influence is my baby! Chelsey Blair is my all in all and I love her more then words can say! She makes my days brighter and she isn't like one of those nasty typical hoes! She respects herslef and I love that about her! Baby, forever we gotta ride!
The name NonFiction, it kinda started on accident, because I was just going to be, Adam Lane, but my sister told me that I need a name, so I can have different pasonas, so I chose NonFiction because at frist all I rapper was christian music and was all about the facts! So that's where the name comes from!
All of this, everything I'm about, it's all for my city! The city of steel! Hamilton ONT! I'm not only going to put Canada on the map, but the whole 905 district! |
