Xumanii maker is a page dedicated to all producers who would like to create live events for their viewers on Xumanii. This page will give you the procedures on how to use the tools developed by Xumanii in order to use more than one camera at your events. It will show you how to use our custom -Xumanii Stream Manager- to connect to all your wireless cameras and edit your event live.
ONE CAMERA SETUP - WITH WIRE
This is the easiest and cheapest solution to broadcast your event. Use any type of digital camcorder with a FireWire cable (IEEE 1394) connected to your computer. Open the Xumanii Stream Manager, add your camera and you will be ready to broadcast. You can get a 15 feet FireWire cable at your local Best Buy for around 20 $.
ONE OR MULTIPLE CAMERA SETUP - WIRELESS
Xumanii has developed a -Xumanii Backpack- to make setup easier for your productions. Purchase the -Xumanii Backpack- from the Xumanii Shop and connect any camera to the Xumanii Backpack with RCA connectors. You may have as many cameras as you wish. You will need to have one Xumanii Backpack for each camera. So you may purchase as many Xumanii Backpacks from the Xumanii shop as necessary.
Once the camera(s) is(are) connected to the Xumanii Backpack(s), you will need the -Xumanii Stream Manager- to connect to all your Xumanii Backpacks.
XUMANII STREAM MANAGER
Once the Xumanii Stream Manager is installed on your computer, you will see a live window for each camera on your computer screen. You can monitor and see what each of your cameras is capturing.
The Stream Manager lets you activate a -LIVE EDITING- session of your event. With the click of a mouse you can change the image being broadcast to your profile from each camera connected to the Xumanii Backpack. The Stream Manager also allows you to include short movie clips to improve your editing.
The Xumanii Stream Manager is only available for Windows XP & Vista. A MAC version is under developement but we have no release date yet.

LEGAL INFORMATION FOR EVENT PRODUCERS
All event producers are required to download, print and display the -FILMING NOTICE- at the entrance of their event location. This -FILMING NOTICE- lets people know that they might be broadcast live on Xumanii.com and prevents any lawsuits against the producer or against Xumanii.
Every person has a right to respect for his private life. (1)
Every person has a right to the respect of his reputation and privacy. No one may invade the privacy of a person without the consent of the person unless authorized by law. (2)
Using his name, image, likeness or voice for a purpose other than the legitimate information of the public is considered as an invasion of the privacy of a person. (3)
The right to the respect for one’s private life is not absolute. It is limited by other fundamental rights such as free speech or the right to inform the public.
Thus, one does not undermine a person’s private life:
• When one receives that person’s consent (implicitly or explicitly)
• When it is in the public’s interest to diffuse information or an event, (such as a public event).
• When the person is not recognizable,
• When a person is filmed secondarily or accidentally (such as a sporting event)
The Quebec courts have such determined what constitutes an implicit consent, a person who accepts being interviewed or photographed without reserve or a person who voluntarily decides to attend a public event knowing there will be a media presence.
A person attending the opening night of an event will be presumed consenting to the capture of their images when:
• A clear filming notice is posted at the entrance of the venue where the event is taking place.
A person attending this event will be aware of a media presence (television, radio, press) and therefore conscious that their right to privacy will be limited.
Therefore, where a filming notice is clearly visible, it is not likely that a person invited to the opening night, later on claims that the live capture of the event infringed upon that person’s right to privacy.
